On the use of overrelaxation in conjunction with Gummel's algorithm to speed the convergence in a two-dimensional computer model for MOSFET's

It is shown that the use of overrelaxation, in the implementation of Gummel's algorithm in a two-dimensional computer model for MOSFET's, is markedly effective in speeding up the rate of convergence of the iterative procedure employed. This is particularly notable under conditions of strong inversion.
