Emission properties of double-doped LuPO/sub 4/:Eu/sup 3+/,Dy/sup 3+/ thermophosphors for application in remote high temperature measurements

Europium- and dysprosium-doped lutetium orthophosphate (LuPO/sub 4/: Eu/sup 3+/,Dy/sup 3+/) phosphors have been investigated for their temperature-dependent emission properties. It is shown that these phosphor crystals can be utilized in remote thermophosphor thermometry up to 1200 degrees C and beyond. The emission and excitation spectra measured as a function of temperature for double-doped LuPO/sub 4/: Eu/sup 3+/,Dy/sup 3+/ are presented.<
