Edge detection properties of a vision receptor configured in a hexagonal tessellation

The paper examines the properties of a vision receptor configured in an hexagonal tessellation which operates by parallel, inter element connected, feed forward processing. An edge detection algorithm suitable for implementation on such an array is discussed and some of its attributes examined.<
