Unified approach to statistical image reconstruction using dual ascent optimization

We propose a new framework to construct convergent row-action type iterative algorithms for statistical image reconstruction. We demonstrate that the proposed framework called DUCOA can be applied to both emission and transmission tomography and yields fast accurate iterative algorithms.
