Electronic and magnetic properties of Mn/sub 3/O/sub 4//Fe/sub 3/O/sub 4/ superlattices

Samples of ferrimagnetic/ferrimagnetic Mn/sub 3/O/sub 4//Fe/sub 3/O/sub 4/ superlattices of different thickness were studied. X-ray absorption (XAS) and X-ray magnetic circular dichroism (XMCD) measurements at transition metal L/sub 2,3/-edges were performed to understand the interplay between the electronic configuration, the atomic structure and the magnetic property at the interface. Bulk MnFe/sub 2/O/sub 4/ was also studied for comparison. The magnetic anisotropy, Curie temperature and the magnetic moment of the superlattice were discussed.
