An implantable microwave antenna for interstitial hyperthermia

This letter presents a new microwave antenna design with greatly enhanced heating at the tip for interstitial hyperthermia. Temperature distribution patterns surrounding the new balun-fed folded dipole antenna are measured in a saline phantom under transient and steady-state conditions.
