The influence of eddy currents on magnetic actuator performance

In this letter the effects of eddy currents on the transient performance of electromagnetic actuators is discussed. It is shown that a transfer function representation, that includes a first-order model of the eddy current influence, can be obtained which is suitable for control system analysis.
