Determination of a digital transfer function from its real part on the unit circle

An extension of the Bode method for continuous systems is presented for constructing transfer function H(z) given its real part on the unit circle. Also pointed out is a simplification in the procedure for identification of poles of H(z), which forms a preliminary step in this and alternative known methods.
