Finite word length effect and stability of multidimensional digital filters

In this paper, the effect of multiplier quantization on unstable transition in n-dimensional filters is studied using a qualitative model. This model is used to determine a priori, for a worst-case design, the finite word length of the multipliers sufficient to retain Stability.
