Calculation of filter inductance for chopper-fed DC separately excited motor

A method is presented for calculating the value of filter inductance such that while the discontinuous conduction will be eliminated and current ripple will be reduced to the prescribed limits, its (filter inductance) adverse affects, such as deterioration of transient response, etc., will be minimal.
