Method of moment analysis of a dipole antenna within a rectangular cavity

We use a novel representation of the Green's function for a lossy rectangular cavity in order to directly obtain the current distribution on an enclosed active dipole antenna by means of the method of moments. The Green's function is obtained by the Ewald sum technique and characterized by very good convergence properties in both the source region and near cavity resonances. For a fixed excitation it is recognized that the electromagnetic coupling critically depends on the antenna radius and the quality factor of the cavity.
