Agent dynamic model and grid: a proposal for satellite image processing

Traditionally multi-agent system (MAS) have focused on autonomous coordination of components to achieve an objective common to the system. Alternatively, grid technologies have focused on the infrastructure, tools and applications that able interoperation of dynamic and distributed organizations. The approach described in this paper consists on providing the multi-agent system with a set of static and dynamical components, internal or external to the agents. The processes of adaptation and evolution of the agent society are based on variations of energy levels, which are associated to main system's components. In addition to that, the proposal also introduces some Grid technologies as alternative to be applied in such agent model, aiming to make the agent society work in an efficient and reliable distributed way, and to obtain an agent dynamical architecture. This evolving agent model (architecture) has been proposed as alternative for the processing of satellite images, application that is presented in the paper.
