A common data-induced-polarization-switching (CDIPS) method for coherent optical transmission systems

Uni- and bidirectional common data-induced-polarization-switching coherent multichannel systems with a single birefringent component are proposed. The operation of these systems is experimentally confirmed. The main advantage is a greatly reduced system complexity.<
