SAR looks at planet Earth: on the project of a spacebased three-frequency band synthetic aperture radar (SAR) for exploring natural resources of the Earth and solving ecological problems

The characteristics of the radar system are described. Its main features are the use of the frame mode of operation to widen the swath and employment of a common antenna for all three wavelength bands. The radar meets the requirements for its intended applications for scanned observation covering a swath width of several hundred kilometers when resolution is approximately 50 m. Radar images of certain areas along a shorter swath width can be acquired with a resolution of approximately 10 m.<
