Effects of finite op-amp gain-bandwidth product on first generation current conveyors

This work is devoted to the analysis of the effects of op-amp gain-bandwidth product (=1/ tau , where tau is the time constant of the op-amp) on the performance of the first generation current conveyor circuit developed by J.L. Huertas (1980) and its modifications. Huertas's original realization employs two op-amps and several resistors. Two op-amp buffers can be added to the circuit to prevent loading effects. However, op-amp finite gain-bandwidth product introduces limitations in the performance of this circuit. these limitations are analyzed for the first generation current conveyor. It has been found that the two circuits presented by Huertas have identical characteristic equations. Also, two buffers can be added to the original circuit to reduce loading effects without increasing the amount of pole migration of the dominant poles. Circuits employing buffered versions of Huertas's circuit can be analyzed as if the buffers were ideal.<
