Automated generation of Poisson-Voronoi tessellations in R/sup 2/ for NS (Nov 2003)

Stochastic point processes and geometrical objects can be used to represent communication network stations and architecture. This includes a combination of point processes, graphs and tessellations. This approach can be useful in simulation of large communication networks containing multilevel stations following an irregular point pattern. This research modeled the process using object-oriented approach. The implementation allows a Poisson point process at each level of the stations and the rules of a connected graph are realized by applying Delaunay triangles and Voronoi tessellations to the point process. A stochastic model was implemented in C++ and OTcl for NS2. Simulations were performed in MATLAB to verify the C++ code.
