All-optical ADC and its applications in future communication satellites

Design issues of digitally beamformed multibeam phased array antennas at V-band is discussed. Important functions of direct down-conversion, timing synchronization, analog-to-digital conversion using all-optical ADC, and high-speed data networking are raised in future communication systems.
