An analysis of multimedia services in next generation communication systems with QoS and revenue management

We present a study that takes into account the models presented in the literature to depict the QoS and the charging strategies in a generalized multimedia environment, with particular regard to 3G mobile communication systems. In particular, we consider different services for CDMA-like systems, and we discuss how it is possible to obtain an efficient allocation for all flows, by considering a mathematical description of the users' satisfaction which integrates the constraints about quality of service. At the same time, the provider revenue is analyzed, in order to give both simple results and possibilities of improvement.
