A stepwise approach to behavior design for real-time software

Describes a methodology for real-time software design and a system supporting that methodology. The SNAPSHOT methodology defines four design steps: service function step, behavior scenario step, interaction step, and state transition step. Most traditional approaches require experienced designers for behavior design due to their focus on the state transition step. The stepwise visual approach of SNAPSHOT helps less-experienced designers successfully construct a system behavior specification. The SNAPSHOT system is described from three points of view: construction, validation, and transformation.<
