A 0.18 /spl mu/M CMOS fully differential transimpedance amplifier for optical receiver

This paper proposes a CMOS fully differential tunable transimpedance amplifier for system-on-chip (SoC) optical receiver. The SpectreS simulation using 1.8 V TSMC 0.18 /spl mu/m CMOS technology shows a tunable transimpedance gain from 40 dB/spl Omega/ to 52 dB/spl Omega/, with bandwidth of 5.6 GHz and 4.2 GHz, respectively. The paper analyzes the design of a common-gate based TIA input stage aimed to achieve low noise, low input impedance and high bandwidth.
