New data for shielding by openwork structure

The authors provide measured data for comparison with the prediction of Chen (IEEE Trans. on Microwave Theory Tech., vol.MTT-21, p.1-6, 1973) on the insertion loss of openwork structures. It is shown that the validity of Chen's formulae extends beyond the stated range of d/ lambda <0.5 to d/ lambda <1.0, where d/ lambda is the ratio of aperture spacing to wavelength.<
