Fitting exponentials: an interest in rates

We study efficient algorithms for solving problems with exponentials. In this paper, we investigate the problem of fitting a sum of exponential functions to data. This problem occurs in many real-world situations, but we'll see that for many data sets, the solution is not well determined.
