Using filters to design absorbing boundary conditions for high-order CEM

Sharp low-pass filters used to stabilize high-order numerical algorithms have been adapted to provide a simple yet robust absorbing boundary with negligible impact on the interior solution. By taking advantage of energy transfer to high frequencies caused by rapidly stretched meshes, the artificially reflected waves are annihilated while preserving the content in the region of interest.
