Teaching ethics for bioengineers in the 21/sup st/ century

The paper discusses three main questions: new technological developments and how they may impact society, the role that ethics and social factors can play to minimize harm, and what topics should be included in a modern course of ethics for bioengineers. The dynamic nature of what the course content should be is also addressed.
