Characterization of the ultra-wideband channel

This paper provides an overview and preliminary results from an ultra-wideband (UWB) channel measurement and modeling campaign performed at Virginia Tech as part of DARPA's "Networking in extreme environments (NETEX)" program. The project includes large scale and small scale channel measurements using various antennas. The environments examined include indoor, outdoor, and indoor-to-outdoor although only the former are discussed here.
