A compact pulsed 3 /spl mu/m fiber laser

In this paper, we report pulsed-to-CW power enhancement factors of /spl sim/22 and pulse energies of 0.4 /spl mu/J for pulsed operation of a 3 /spl mu/m Er: ZBLAN fiber laser, achieved by modulating the Q-factor of the cavity by means of an integrated LiTaO/sub 3/ waveguide electro-optics light deflector at repetition rates as high as 60 KHz.
