Asynchronous sampled amplitude histogram model for optical performance monitoring in high speed networks

We suggest a methodology that allows the characterization of the main high data rate systems (40 Gbit/s) performance parameters, from slow, bit rate independent sampling. This technique is suitable for the future transparent optical networks.
