Stator winding replacement based on overpotential testing

This paper provides examples for the application of AC overpotential testing to provide information for condition based stator maintenance or rewinding of large high voltage generators. This testing program has been a successful part of an asset management approach applied by AEP engineering to large machines for the past 10 years.
