The development of application specific integrated circuits using the System Design Synthesis Tool

The application-specific integrated circuit (ASIC) development process can be improved by the use of an integrated set of design tools which allows a system designer to transform the system requirements into computational structures, specify and capture the proposed architecture, and estimate rapidly the performance/implementation costs. The use of the System Design Synthesis Tool (SDST), which provides these three features with the additional capability of translating the specified design to a form accepted by a silicon compiler, is discussed.<
