The effect of varying the input parameters on the performance capabilities of three different DOA estimation algorithms using smart antennas

The primary aim of this work is to introduce a study and a comparison between three well-known algorithms used to estimate the direction-of-arrival (DOA) of a mobile user RF signal. In the present work, a Matlab program is designed to simulate the three algorithms, evaluate the performance of each and compare between them. The effect of varying different parameters on the algorithms' capabilities is also considered. Measures of the resolvability of the algorithms together with a definition of a separation threshold resolution level are given and illustrated with 3-dimensional figures.
