Electron velocity diffusion in strong turbulence

Velocity diffusion of electrons placed in strong Langmuir turbulence has been numerically investigated. The velocity variance initially exhibits quasi-linear behavior followed by non-Markovian subdiffusive phase in agreement with the previous theoretical predictions. However, the subdiffusive phase is also transient and a well defined diffusive phase with a constant diffusivity emerges. The asymptotic diffusivity scales as /spl radic//spl sigma/ where /spl sigma/ is the RMS amplitude of the turbulent electric potential.
