Collaborative learning by distance chorus on the Internet

Broadband networks give us new learning style using high-quality multimedia communications. As an educational application, the authors realize a distance chorus between two elementary schools on the Internet. They consider technical problems to realize a distance chorus and show its solution using an audio transmission system developed by them. Also, they discuss the impact of active collaboration such as a distance chorus in distance learning. Then they describe the process of a special study including a distance chorus for the purpose to improve communication ability of students considering educational significance of a distance chorus. Finally, they show some evaluations and its consideration.
