The effect of imperfect carrier sensing on nonpersistent carrier sense multiple access

An analysis of nonpersistent CSMA (carrier sense multiple access) in radio channels with imperfect carrier sensing is presented. Numerical results show that a careful optimization of the channel state detector parameter must be performed in order to get good system performance; otherwise, the system will tend to behave like unslotted Aloha.<
