An excitation function for LPC synthesis which retains the human Glottal phase characteristics

An excitation function for LPC synthesis is constructed from a best estimate of the glottal volume velocity waveform. By proper smoothing, inverse filtering, and truncation, the phase characteristics of the glottal wave are preserved, while the basic requirement of an essentially flat spectrum is also satisfied.
