Intelligent transport network survivability: study of distributed and centralized control techniques using DCS and ADMs

Evolving network topologies, their impact on network survivability, and a comparison of distributed and centralized control algorithms are discussed. It is shown that the concept of the new intelligent transport network is migrating towards the support of the SONET standards and the deployment of high-capacity optical fibers. LTEs, ADMs, and DCSs, and that the DCSs and add-drop multiplexers (ADMs) are equipped with unique feature capabilities which can support network survivability. A network flooding technique, the FITNESS distributed control algorithm, and a centralized control algorithm are also discussed.<
