A contribution to the stability analysis of second-order direct-form digital filters with magnitude truncation

The convergence patterns of the zero-input response of a second-order direct-form digital filter with two magnitude truncation quantizers are analyzed. Some improvements over existing results are obtained concerning the parameter region in which the zero state is reached from any initial condition.
