On line splitting in the optimum tapered Burg algorithm

A modification to the optimum tapered Burg algorithm is presented which has the same cost as that required by the original algorithm. Simulation results have shown that the new spectra exhibit no spontaneous line splitting and are independent of the initial phase in the case of a single sinusoid.
