The design of radiation-resistant semiconductor circuits

SEMICONDUCTOR DEVICES are among the electronic components most sensitive to high-energy radiation damage. There are two types of transient radiation effects on semiconductor devices. A high-intensity radiation pulse causes ionization that will usually decay in a few micro-seconds to a few milliseconds. Circuit design for this transient should provide for recovery before requiring that it operate.
