Charge definition of transistor properties

THE ESSENTIALLY-DISTRIBUTED nature of charge set up in a transistor is emphasized in a of Figure 1. Where the dynamic behavior of minority carrier charges injected into the base, emitter and collector regions is represented by the charging of RCG transmission lines. The model shown here is to some extent diagrammatic rather than exact, in that a 3-dimensional medium is represented by one-dimensional lines; depletion layer charge are omitted, as are the representations of other extrinsic properties.
