A 4K static clocked and nonclocked RAM design

OVER THE PAST two years 4096-bit static MOS RAM products‘’2 have evolved into nonclocked and clocked versions. The nonclocked RAM uses asynchronous circuitry throughout, while the clocked static RAM makes use of the chip select signal not only to select the chip, but also to generate internal waveforms to enhance the performance. Table 1 summarizes the features of a clocked and nonclocked 4K static RAM. Figure 1 illustrates the typical timing and waveform relationships of the clocked devices.*
