Current programmed control nonresonant coupled parallel resonant converter

In the nonresonant coupled parallel resonant converter operated below unity gain, the inductor current at the switching points has a maximum value which is determined by the converter gain and the output load. By switching transistors at predetermined inductor current levels, the output voltage due to the output current and input voltage changes can be regulated. The peak inductor current can be controlled by the control circuit, which can be limited to desirable values. By using the nonresonant coupling in the output circuit, the maximum capacitor voltage is clamped to the output voltage level. Thus, the converter has low voltage stresses. The authors present the analysis and design of the converter. The performance characteristics of the converter are also presented. They use computer simulation results to verify the correctness of our theoretical work.<
