Performance of Microstrip Couplers on an Anisotropic Substrate with an Isotropic Superstrata

The directivity of microstrip couplers on anisotropic substrates can be improved substantially by adding an isotropic superstrata layer above the microstrips. The necessary dimensions of the layer can be chosen so that fabrication is simple and noncritical.
