A Cost-Effective Modular Downconverter for S-Band WEFAX Reception (Short Papers)

The relocation of weather satellite facsimile downlinks from VHF into S-band has generated a requirement for reliable, low-cost microwave receiving equipment. This paper explores many of the design tradeoffs encountered in developing one such receiver system.
