Recent Spectrum Policy Directions in the U.S., U.K. and Europe

The last few months have witnessed a flurry of activity in spectrum policy, covering terrestrial, satellite, licensed and unlicensed usage in a number of different frequency bands in the U.S., U.K. and Europe. Recent columns have described the 3 GHz [1] and 7 GHz band [2] approaches in the U.S., but the latest U.S. legislation [3] has resulted in a change in policy in these bands going forward. In this column we will review recent developments in these spectrum regulatory domains in a number of relevant frequency bands.
