Correction to "On the design of a decentralized observation scheme for large-scale systems"

The authors correct an error in their earlier paper (see ibid., vol. AC-29, no. 3, pp. 274-276, 1984). It is pointed out that the matrix factorization result given in Lemma 1 requires certain additional conditions. These conditions are discussed.
