A new method on computation of the characteristic polynomial for a class of square matrices

In this correspondence, a new method is proposed to construct the characteristic polynomial for a class of square matrices with some restrictions. An algorithm is also given. The proposed method and algorithm have recursive forms and are therefore suitable for calculation by computer.
