A Minituarized Dual Band Rectangular Stripped Design of Microstrip Patch Antenna

Patch antenna is extremely popular in biomedical field due to its compact size, light weight, easy integration and compatibility with wearable devices. The presented paper discuses about the rectangular stripped microstrip patch antenna for body centric applications. The insertion of the rectangular stripped is used for enhancing the current path and length of the electrifying signal. The design antenna has given the dual band operation for the resonating frequency of 1.75 and 3.5 GHz with the −19.9 and 37.5 dB return loss respectively. After insertion of the body phantom the return loss result should not deviate from the actual admired results and the dual operation of the design is achieved. The same body phantom has been checked for the SAR value. SAR range is coming in the acceptable range defined by the FCC. The SAR value for the 1 gram of muscle is 0.484 W/kg and for 10 gram of muscle is 1.25 W/kg. So that the presented paper can be used for the biomedical applications.
