An Integrated Network Using Fiber Optics (INFO) for the Distribution of Video, Data and Telephony in Rural Areas

This paper reviews systems which could be suitable for providing integrated broadband and narrowband telecommunications services in rural areas, using fiber optics as the transmission medium. Systems are compared for complexity and operational features, and the principal components in each system are described briefly.
