AutoDim: Automatic High/Low Beam Transition System

The glare from oncoming vehicles is the major cause for accidents at night time due to impaired visibility. This work showcases an automatic high to low beam transition system that can switch the state of headlights in response to the oncoming traffic. The system is comprised of a raspberry pi zero W which uses an image recognition program to detect the intensity of light that it receives. In case of detection, the system automatically switches to low beam setting using the relays connected to headlight. This plug-and-play kit can be installed in any car or bike, offering a practical solution to prevent further nighttime accidents.
