Spectra of Waves with Periodic Modulation

The harmonic analysis of a wave with amplitude

and angle modulating function

is simplified for cases in which

are periodic and their periods are rationally related. Further simplifications are made when these functions have symmetrical properties. Examples are given to illustrate the procedure.
